< Bronze Award - Winter Oolong > Taiwan DONGPIAN Cha 200g

$26.00

The taste pattern of Dongpian 冬片 Oolong is distinctly unique, just as much as any other renowned tea region like Dongding or Lishan. Soaked, the leaves unfurl to reveal a classic roast delivered with craftsmanship, reddening only the rims and nothing more.

Its unique qualities best resemble the scent of a florist shop: freshly cut stems, dark leaf and a wild harmony of red and purple flowers, with a hint of grapefruit on the side. The dongpian wants your attention, so brew it with care. What you will get is an overwhelming taste that remains elusive despite its intensity; an oolong-version, if you will, of a Buddhist mantra.

A fine Oolong, subtle yet assertively verdant floral notes that warm and soften while lingering long on the palate. Yes, reminiscent of florist's shop as described above, but with a gentle, almost elusive version of the richness that belongs to Oolong alone.
